Juandre’s Cheezy Toast


Who doesn’t like cheese and toast. My hubby makes these deliciously cheezy toast for us for a special breakfast treat on weekends and I love it. You can fancy it up with a zingy side salad but absolutely not required. A couple of these with a big mug of coffee will put you right for the day. Enjoy! Simple yet satisfying.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • 1 tbs Melted Butter
  • 1 Egg, lightly beaten
  • Pinch of Cayenne pepper
  • 1tsp Chopped Chives (optional but I like it)
  • 2 slices of bread, your choice. I do like to use Sourdough or sliced white bread for this recipe.

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Line a baking tray with parchment paper
  2. In a bowl mix all the ingredients together except the bread.
  3. Place the bread on the baking tray. Spoon the cheese mixture on top. Sort of in a heap in the middle of the bread.
  4. Place in the oven and bake for 12 – 15 minutes or stick it under the grill until the cheese bubbles.
